A Day at Center Parcs
A family holiday at Center Parcs Longleat, with Ollie making the most of the playgrounds and slides while his baby sister watched from Dad’s arms. From the play parks to the beach, it was a simple record of a family enjoying time together — one exploring the world at full speed, the other just beginning to discover it. space.
Frequently Asked Questions

Most family shoots asks you to construct something for the camera — a version of family life that exists for the images. Ours doesn’t.
You already have a family, and you already have a life together that undoubtedly contains imagery worth having. Instead of asking you to step out of it, we come into it.
We might spend an afternoon at home making dinner, washing the car, baking, playing in the garden, building Lego or watching a film. Or we might come along for something you were already planning — A birthday, the park, the beach, grandparents, the funfair, walking the dog or a Sunday walk.
It doesn’t need to be an occasion. It just needs to be your life.
There is no script, no studio, and no particular version of your family you need to produce. You don’t need to keep everyone happy, keep the house tidy, or make the children behave. You live it. We witness it.
What matters is how your family actually is — the energy, relationships, tenderness, awkwardness, boredom, laughter and all the little things that happen without anyone deciding they should.
Family life changes without asking permission. Children grow. Routines disappear. Houses change. The things that feel too ordinary to capture now can become the things you most want to remember: the kitchen, the mess, the favourite jumper, the way they climbed onto your lap, reach for your hand, or the particular way you spent a Sunday.
It doesn’t need to be perfect. It needs a life worth remembering. And your family has that in abundance. Our job is simply to pay enough attention to notice it.
If you’d like to make a record of your family as it is now, we’d love to hear from you.

Most family photography asks you to stop and construct something for the camera — matching outfits, a studio, a patch of grass chosen for a nice backdrop, everyone looking the same way at once. Documentary family photography doesn’t ask that. We come into the life you already have and photograph it as it actually is: the energy, the mess, the tenderness, the boredom, all of it. Nothing is arranged. It’s your family, noticed.

Wherever your life is actually happening. That might be at home — making dinner, playing in the garden, watching a film — or somewhere you were already going, like the park, the beach, grandparents’, or a Sunday walk. It doesn’t need to be a special occasion. It just needs to be your life.
-
No. You don’t need to tidy up, coordinate outfits, or get the children to behave. Live your life as you normally would — we’ll pay attention to it. The things that feel too ordinary to photograph now are often exactly what you’ll want to remember later.
-
No. We’re not looking for a performance, and there’s nothing to get right. We’re photographing the relationships and the small, real moments between you — a shy child still has all of that. Give it a little time to settle and forget we’re there, and the rest takes care of itself.

There’s no set answer. Some families book a single session to mark a particular stage, while others come back regularly because family life changes so quickly.
We particularly love the idea of documenting a child’s first few years month by month. Those early years are full of changes that are easy to miss when you’re living through them — the face changing, new expressions, first steps, new words, favourite things, new ways of moving and relating to the people around them.
Rather than trying to capture all of that in one session, we can build a monthly documentary series around your family, with one session each month and the freedom to simply photograph whatever your life looks like at that point. Over time, the photographs become a record not just of how your child grew, but of how your whole family changed around them.
If that sounds like something you’d love to create, we’re happy to work out a regular arrangement that makes it practical and affordable, including a simple monthly payment option.

We do, though for family sessions it’s one or the other rather than both together, so we can give our full attention to whichever you choose. Let us know when you enquire which suits you best.
