I always recommend outfits that feel comfortable and reflect who you are. Soft, neutral tones tend to photograph beautifully, but bold colours or textures that feel “you” are always welcome. For maternity, simple dresses or pieces that highlight your bump work wonderfully.

Yes, but from experience family and maternity sessions usually work best when they are around 2 hours in length. That gives us plenty of time for children (and adults!) to warm up, and ensures we capture a mix of natural moments and more composed portraits without feeling rushed or children becoming bored or restless. Some shoots may require longer duration in order to explore multiple spots within a location or to accommodate outfit changes.

I don’t put a strict limit on the number of images delivered or add costs for additional photos. Every package includes unlimited photos, carefully edited by me to reflect my artistic style and your story. On average, families and maternity clients receive 50-100+ fully edited photographs, (depending on duration of the shoot) but I’ll never hold back images that add to your gallery or charge you extortionate amounts for any additional images.

No — I personally do not use AI software for editing, and here’s why that matters.

AI tools are becoming more common in photography, but they can’t capture the subtlety, emotion, and personality that make your images truly unique. Automated editing often produces generic results, misses the context of the moment, and can “correct” creative choices — like a moody wedding shot, a warm family portrait, or a dynamic scene with motion blur — leaving your images feeling flat or lifeless.

By editing every image myself, I ensure that your photos reflect the real mood, atmosphere, and story of your shoot. My approach preserves the emotion, individuality, and artistry that make each session special.

In short: your photos deserve more than generic AI corrections. They deserve artistry, care, and a human touch. Choosing a photographer who edits by hand means your gallery is unique, expressive, and full of life — something AI simply can’t replicate.

I’m based in South West London, with strong connections to West Sussex and Hampshire. 50 free miles of travel are included with every session, and beyond that it’s just £0.45 per mile. For maternity, I recommend booking between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined but you still feel comfortable moving around. For family sessions, there’s more flexibility — many families book a few months ahead, but I also take last-minute bookings where possible.

That’s completely normal! I have plenty of experience working with children (and pets) and I never expect them to sit still or behave perfectly. My documentary style rooted in street photography actually embraces the chaos — I’ll capture those playful, funny, and tender moments in between.

Sometimes those little in-between glances, cheeky misbehaved moments, hugs, or giggles end up being the favourite photos. So don’t worry about that.
